At S & H Automation & Equipment Co., Inc., we build tube and wire bending machinery for the automotive industry and other related businesses using 72 years of background know-how and experience.

Jimmy Stewart, along with a partner, worked for an automotive company in Kendallville, IN. They put their heads together and decided they could start their own business with the knowledge they had acquired.

Jimmy’s partner left his then current job and began working full time developing their new company, S & H Automation, while Jimmy continued to work and gain further experience for another 6 months. He then joined his partner full time in their new venture.

The business was started in February of 1988 in a 2 car garage. Once they started the business, both Ron and Jon (Jimmy’s sons) came to work for them, learning the ins and outs of the machinery. Around the age of 17 & 15 years, they worked and help build what today is 24,000 square feet of Successful Business Housing a CNC Department, 3 Tool Rooms where all componentry is produced in house with the exception of the Pneumatic / Hydraulic cylinders, Electrical components, Air / Grease line (Hosing or plumbing of the machine) and valves. 

In 1997 Jimmy and his partner parted ways and at that time Ron and Jon stepped in to help run the business instead of just build machinery. Since then, Jimmy has retired and his 2 sons run it full time.

The friendly voices you hear when you call S & H Automation are Jimmy’s daughter Mindy and daughter-in-law Emily.
